At this months outing I was shocked to hear that our President, Ron Doherty was taken ill while on the road touring. I’m told he required an operation, which was successful, and he is now recuperating somewhere in S.A. Well Ron, if you are reading this, as the President of H.V.V. You and Judy are overworked and grossly underpaid but, we all miss you and welcome your return to the fold when you have regained your health. I have counted at least 50 lost sheep around here.
Tomago Bowling Club allowed H.V.V. full and free use of their facilities for our camp this weekend, twenty eight vans and their owners took advantage of the offer, as a result the club was given good patronage, lots of communal back scratching here.
To Dawn Hillis we wish you well with your operation and a speedy recovery.
The club gained new members Ron and Colleen Moore, welcome you two.
Two rinks were required for disc bowls, which still gains popularity as a recreation, and it is most notable that players are becoming more and more skilful at this game, which means that John Cotton does not win every game!
And in breaking news, Dawn’s operation is now cancelled, to be replaced by five months of chemotherapy. See you soon Dawn.
Regards
Derek
